Overview

The landscape of rail asset management is evolving rapidly with the emergence of new technologies and the focus on data and analytics. The spotlight is on deploying state-of-the-art technologies and moving from preventive to condition-based and performance-based maintenance. Some of these trends include the deployment of smart devices, big data analysis and the internet of things for predictive maintenance; digital twins to enable sustained asset management monitoring on a life cycle basis; advanced solutions for prognosis and health assessment at the system level; advanced decision support systems (DSS) for holistic management, integration and cooperation; design and implementation of robotic solutions for automatic execution of maintenance and management policies; etc. These are transforming the way rail operators, train operating companies (TOCs), rail infrastructure managers, and infrastructure owners are investing in asset management.

To discuss key trends and new technologies, Global Mass Transit is organising a webinar on ‘Emerging Trends in Rail Asset Management in Europe’ on October 25, 2023.

The mission of the webinar is to discuss emerging trends in rail asset management, highlight investments in digital asset management, focus on the role of data and analytics, and showcase new technologies and solutions.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • Emerging trends in asset management, capital programmes, resilience
  • Solutions and strategies for rail asset management
  • Data analytics, enterprise asset management and predictive maintenance
  • New technologies (AI, BIM, Digital Twins, etc)

The webinar will bring together public transport authorities (PTAs), rail operators, train operating companies (TOCs), local government agencies, rail infrastructure managers, infrastructure owners, infrastructure system providers, asset managers, technology providers and consultants.
