The Government of Indonesia has launched various incentives to increase the adoption of electric vehicles. Despite progress, multiple barriers including higher upfront costs, an immature EV ecosystem, and regulatory disparities impede swift adoption. Prioritising deployment of electric buses has been identified as a key approach to encouraging a move away from private vehicle usage, which has the potential to reduce both air pollution and traffic congestion.
