Global Mass Transit released the latest edition of New and Upcoming Rail Projects in ASEAN Report & Database 2022-2036, which tracks over 80 new and upcoming rail projects in the region, spanning more than 5,800 km. These projects will be developed at an estimated investment of USD270 billion.
Part 1 provides an analysis of recent policies and programmes announced by the national, state, and city-level governments promoting expansion of rail networks, funding and financing support (by multilateral agencies, governments as well as scope for private sector engagement), detailed profiles of each country, key emerging trends in the region, market opportunities for suppliers and consultants, planned investments, and risk and challenges.
Part 2 provides details about the opportunities available in terms of mode (metrorail, MRT, subway, light rail, tram, monorail, passenger/commuter/suburban rail, and HSR), alignment (at-grade, elevated and underground), expected completion (by 2027, between 2028-2032, beyond 2032) and cost (less than USD2 billion, between USD2 billion and USD6 billion, between USD6 billion and USD10 billion and over USD10 billion).
