Project SUMBA developed a document discussing the state-of-the-art modeling approaches and assessment tools as well as the required data and possible data sources.
The most modern transport modeling concepts, approaches, and techniques are introduced as well as software solutions available on the market. The document describes and compares not only major commercial applications but also open-source solutions. Steps to build a model are also presented including data requirements. Different data sources are also described including steps to validate and quality manage the data itself. For those cities and regions that lack necessary data – ways of deriving missing data are presented and discussed in detail.
