The first phase of Xuzhou Metro Line 6 has officially opened for operations, marking the start of four-line grid operation in the city’s metro network. Construction of Phase I began in 2020, with the track, power, and communications systems completed by 2024. Trial runs commenced in June 2025, followed by trial rides in September before the commercial opening.

Line 6 Phase I is 22.9 km long and comprises 16 underground stations, including interchanges with Line 1 at Xuzhou East Station, with Line 2 at Administrative Center Station, and with Line 3 at Yuquanhe Station. It is the first line in Xuzhou to adopt Grade of Automation 4 (GoA4) fully automatic operation, with “Ziwei Blue” trains providing driverless service.

With the opening of Line 6, Xuzhou Metro now operates a four-line interconnected system, strengthening connectivity across the city and enhancing passenger capacity and convenience. The project was developed and is operated by Xuzhou Metro Group.
