Purpose
Contactless ticketing and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) can help build trust for public transportation in Covid-19 transit response and recovery. Ticketing options such as mobile, EMV, wallets and smartcards eliminate cash handling and direct contact between passengers and transit agency employees. Cloud based software-as-a-service (SaaS) business models, ticketing apps, and real-time passenger communication can enhance customer service and operations efficiency as transit systems prepare for recovery from the pandemic. MaaSallows integration of public and private mobility options for customer-centric mobility solution and convenient payment options which are expected to increase ridership.

The webinar will provide a platform to discuss available and emerging technology solutions; key issues of ridership decline, security, accessibility and social inclusion; as well as best practices in the adoption of contactless ticketing and MaaS by transit agencies in the US and Canada.
