UK-based rail operator Network Rail (NR) has agreed to a GBP2.3 billion funding package with Crossrail for new infrastructure enhancements and surface works.

Under the agreement, NR will carry out modifications at 27 surface stations, provide power for the new rolling stock, including overhead lines, and build a new and larger flyover at Stockley, in Hillingdon.

The agreement on the final anticipated cost will ensure that the works are completed to enable Crossrail services to Maidenhead, Heathrow, Abbey Wood and Shenfield.

Crossrail, a project being developed by Cross London Rail Links Limited (Crossrail Limited), will provide a new route across central London that will be integrated with the London tube network.
