May 9, 2017

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has appointed a consultant team, which will assist the department in planning the state wide rail system and development of the New Haven Line. The team will comprise members from various organisations such as Aecom, Parsons Brinckerhoff and STV.

Under Phase I of the project, various measures will be taken to improve the capacity, frequency and speed of rail services on the New Haven Line. The scope of study will further include accessing various concepts and alternatives for future train services and potential investment requirements.

The programme is part of the Government’s ‘Let’s Go CT!' initiative, which is a USD100-billion transportation plan, to be undertaken over a period of 30 years.
