Germany: Region-wise passenger traffic [free access]

In 2015, around 9.2 billion passengers commuted via buses and trams, while 2.7 billion passengers commuted via rail transport. The Nordrhein-Westfalen region recorded the highest number of bus commuters (1.48 billion) and the second highest number of tram commuters (744 million); while Bayern recorded the second highest number of bus commuters (713 million) and the highest number of tram commuters (751 million). The following table provides region-wise passenger traffic distribution on buses and streetcars for 2015.
