Construction has commenced on the 331-km Hangzhou-Wenzhou high-speed rail (HSR) line in the eastern Zhejiang province in China. The line is being developed through the public-private partnership (PPP) model, and is expected to be completed by 2021. Once operational, the line will reduce the end-to-end journey time from 2.5 hours to one hour.
Meanwhile, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has unveiled plans to finance transport projects valued at CNY4.5 trillion on a PPP basis in the next few years.
